Nice job on the site but...I'm sad to see the Peter Waite-styled EBCC logo disappear. :-(

The forum is going to be moderated? I just replied to Pat's post and my reply needs approval. I only used 7 swear words when describing him. The limit on the old forum for profane words was 10!

Will there be spell/grammar check? I need it sometimes so heaven forbid all the engineers in the group have to go without it.

I would also like my Tigger avatar back and my post count to be updated (currently stands at 123,459,266). Don't want to lose my lead.

Once your first post is approved, you should be automatically approved after that, so not every post is moderated.

I think there are browser plugins you can get that spell check. Google Chrome has a built in spell checker

You can use Gravatar to set an avatar, but I was considering making an upload tool for setting an avatar of your choice without having to rely on a 3rd party.

Was that logo designed by Peter? Had I known that, I wouldn't have touched it. That's kind of like remodeling a house designed by Franklin Lloyd Wright. blush

O.K. The original EBCC logo is back. I am not worthy to carry the paint brush of an artist of the stature of the great Mr. Waite art smile

Done :-)

Thanks for all the responses, Brent. Re: avatars...it pulls one from somewhere automatically...Google+? Wordpress?

Yes if you have set up a Gravatar (associated with Wordpress, and other sites) with the same email that you are registered with this site, it will display your avatar automatically.

If anyone has suggestions for links to add to the links section of the site, send them my way. Especially looking for regional links to important events, racing teams, training, etc.

Will there be a search engine for older posts? Will the older posts from the previous site be available? How about a built in survey tool? I think that would be very helpful in making many ride routes, meetings, dates, etc.

I will add a search box.

>Will the older posts from the previous site be available?

It was going to be too much work to import old posts. I do have the old data, so I can look into exporting it somehow into a readable format or archive.

Good idea. I'll see what I can come up with.

I discovered an issue with the password reset form tonight, so if you had tried to reset your password and it wasn't working, it should be fixed now.

If you are a first time visitor from the old EBCC site, your old username / password from the old site will not work on this site. You need to register for a new login account.

Great job on the web site Brent, much appreciated. Wondering how easy it would be to put a "go to page" on the top of a page so if you know you want to go to page 2, 3 etc. to see the last post you don't have to scroll down to the bottom of the first page to get there.

Was thinking that myself. I'll put that on my to do list.

Brent,

I tried to renew membership and after putting down family ($40) and clicking on buy now, the pay page showed $30 for the membership. Not sure if it is automatically making it an individual membership or if it is using old prices (use to be $30 for family).

Thanks Gerry

I'll take a look and try to figure out what the issue is. Can you tell me what kind of browser/version number you are using? If Windows and internet explorer, the version number would be helpful to know.

In reply to Brent

Thanks for making that change so fast Brent. (It enabled me to skip the first 3 pages and 42 posts to find out what the Wingbiters decided re: the ride tonight.)

I found what I think the problem was and put in a fix for this. It should work now if you want to try again. Let me know if it is still a problem.
