Hey Everyone!
The 2020 ride season is quickly closing the gap and will be upon us in no time. If you have not already, please remember to renew your club membership.
We've scheduled the Spring Kick off dinner for Sunday, March 22 in Berkshire Hall at Brodie Park. (580 West Hill Rd., New Hartford, CT 06057). Festivities will begin at 5PM. If you would like to help with the party setup we'll be opening up the hall at 4PM. As is tradition the club will provide dinner and beverages with a pot luck style desert table. We will have a few short announcements before the main event of socializin and talkin 'bout bike riding.
This event is for active members...so be sure to renew before then. Club SWAG (T-shirts, caps, baseball hats and water bottles) will be available for members.
Before the meeting, please download the Slack App on your phone. Slack has proven to be a useful tool in communicating about ride updates and different events that are going on. Jan will give a live demonstration at the dinner.
We'll cover the ride calendar, club events, community events along with a presentation from our guest speaker.
Hope to see you there!

Socializing begins around 5, with dinner and guest speaker to follow. This years presentation is general overview of ‘first response’ when handling a bike accident. Various scenarios will be played out, and will include a review of CPR. This will be presented by Steve Johnson...some of you may know him and his wife Kim. He is an EMT and athlete and sees the great value in teaching some important lessons to all of us. In addition, Collin and Caitlin will join us for conversations as Benidorm Bikes will he scheduling guided dirt road riding experiences with them.
In light of current events the EBCC board has decided to postpone the spring dinner. The event will be rescheduled, date TBD. An update will be posted to the #everyone group on the Slack site.
Although large get-togethers in closed spaces are being avoided right now, 24 mile bike rides around scenic reservoirs in the month of April are still a grand idea. Stay tuned on Slack for the Wed night Res Loop details happening next month.
