CROSS IS COMING!!!! - Check out these EBCC / Benidorm / Farmington Valley Youth Cycling happenings

Thanks very much to Jan and Doug for once again offering to host our FVYC youth cyclocross team kick-off information session. Know a girl or boy ages 9 to 18 who might be interested in riding or racing CX this fall? Come out to Benidorm Bikes at 6:30 PM on Thursday 8/15. Meet the coaches, other kids and parents. Learn about cyclocross riding and racing and the CCAP fall CX season. Junior team registration is already open, but stay tuned for finalized practice days, times and locations. We are leaning toward Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning practices in the Simsbury/Avon/Farmington/Canton/New Hartford area. https://www.ctcyclingadvancement.org/events-series/2019-cx-team-registration/

Brodie CX on 10/27 is sponsored by Benidorm Bikes, Eastern Bloc Cycling Club and the FVYC, so we hope parents, kids and club members will once again help with the promotion (course set-up, break-down, parking, registration, etc.) of this awesome family-friendly race. Brodie CX has received rave reviews from participants over the past couple of years, and this year's race promises to be even better.

FVYC kids, parents and coaches, and EBCC club members will be participating in the Rocky Hill practice series of races again this year, Wednesdays in September (9/4, 9/11, 9/18 and 9/25). https://www.bikereg.com/ccap-rocky-hill-week-2 FVYC, EBCC and the Pratt & Whitney Cycling Club have been asked to provide 8 volunteers to do course set-up starting at 2:30 PM on Wednesday 9/18.
Supporting this event helps EBCC stay in good standing with USA Cycling. https://www.volunteersignup.org/CQWJ8

Know anybody who might have a small used cross bike they don't need anymore? We're looking to outfit a team of kids with bikes for the CX season. Our team parents would greatly appreciate donated or bargain used bikes. Kids grow quickly, and it can be financially challenging to keep them outfitted with bikes from one season to the next. We sincerely appreciate that generous club members have donated bikes and cash toward the purchase of bikes in past seasons.
