Canton Road Construction
Heads up: Canton is working on three roads over the next two weeks (weather permitting)
- Bahre Corner Road will be paved on Monday, December 1.
- Barbourtown Road will be paved on Monday, December 1.
- Case Street will be graded & reclaimed on Tuesday, December 2 and paved later in the week.
Next year, East Hill Rd will undergo a major construction (drainage, grade, widen in parts, full repaving) for the entire length from Dyer to N. Mountain, the budget is near $2M just for E Hill rd. A handful of others roads are on the pavement management plan next year, but they won't be prioritized and scheduled until spring time. when I hear more I'll add a post.
Image next year a ride from the shop up E. Hill, Barbourtown, 219, descend case, up N. mountain and descend Gracy, up Bahre and down E Hill; all on smooth new pavement.
The section of East Hill South of 44 will take some time. The plan is to widen the area between 44 and Colony, which is where I live. I guarantee my neighbors will put up a stink about where the width comes from. It will be fantastic when it's done!
