Accident at Dry Bridge Rd?

Anyone know if this is one of ours? Life Star was called in. I don't know anything else. Hope it isn't too dire. D

Don,

The crash victim was a sixteen year old girl from Canton. A Go Fund Me page was set up for the family, and there is an update posted there.

Go Fund Me

The crash happened at the intersection of Dry Bridge Road and Notch Road in Simsbury. I do not know the details, but from what was reported in the media, she was heading north and the car was heading south on Notch. I suspect she may have been coming down the hill and attempting a left turn onto Dry Bridge, where she lives.

As many of you know, that is a very dangerous intersection, particularly because the southbound cars come around a blind corner at very high speed. (Again, I do not know the specifics of this crash). Unfortunately, this is also a portion of the Farmington River Trail and is heavily traveled by the ususal "rail trail" crowd; kids, families, seniors, etc. The road is very narrow and marked with sharrows, but speed is a real issue. I know some folks have already contacted Simsbury PD about more signage or enforcement, but hopefully something more can be done to make it safer.

This is really sad to know about the accident.

That's the most dangrous stretch of road in the Farmington Valley and it's barely a 10th of a mile.
