Wednesday R.U.S.H. Ride?

An expanded and more inclusive version of the classic "hooky" ride: the Retired/Unemployed/Slacker/Hooky (RUSH) ride. Look for more of these on weekdays when productive members of society are at work, providing for their families, and otherwise adding to the good of society. Not us.

Temps to rise to near 70F on Wednesday. Anyone interested in B paced road ride from Peoples State Forest on Wednesday morning, say at 9:00 am? Post here if interested.

  • Meet at Matthies Grove, near the fabulous modern restrooms (definitely a "plus" for the retired contingent)

  • Route: To be determined, but maybe head out past Doolittle Lake toward New Marlborough. 40 - 50 miles. Suggested routes welcome.

  • Pace: B (the pace formerly known as CP)

  • What else to expect: Copious amounts of bulls**t, including novel new excuses for going slow. Reasonable probability of getting lost.

Sounds good John. Any chance we could start at 10 AM ?

I'm okay with a 10 am start

Will a 10AM start get you back in time for the early bird special?

I had this in mind; almost the same route: Route

That route looks good...only thing is Campbell Falls Rd is not paved where it turns off 272 and was pretty rough last time Sam and I rode by there in the fall. Spaulding Rd which is just before Campbell Falls Rd is paved and turns into Tobey Hill Rd which dumps out on Canaan Valley Rd just a bit south of where Campbell Falls Rd meets Canaan Valley Rd.

Is Wednesday Senior Citizen day?

It's also Hooky Day - why don't you ride and show your boss who's boss

P.S. This reply still subject to grammatical review by Wayne (who's vs. whose)

Duly noted. Thanks.

I'll step in here: who's is a contraction for "who is"; whose is possessive, e.g., "whose bike is this"? So, you got it right!

Any thoughts on a shorter (40 mile) route? After all, it is March.

If not, I'm okay with Lew's 50 miler.

In reply to DinoSore

I'm planning on being there.

(John, the route you just posted is "private".)

I'm OK with your 40 miler...we can do a 50 miler next time. Your 40 mile route starts at the glass factory in Riverton...are we meeting there or at Matthies Grove ?

Matthies Grove
