Tri-State Road Ride - Saturday June 20th

We're planning a metric century road ride on Saturday, June 20th. Starting at the Stop & Shop in North Canaan, CT, we'll head north into Western MA, head west into NY, take a mid-ride break at the Depot Deli in Copake Falls, continue south and back into CT, past Lime Rock and back to North Canaan. Route is 61.4 miles and about 3,200 feet of climbing, with three decent climbs. Club pace, but with plenty of opportunities for regrouping and photo stops on this very scenic route. Figure about 5 hours (4 hours riding, plus time for the mid-ride stop and regroupings. For planning, note that the start point is about 30 miles and a 45 minute drive from Benidorm.

Date: Saturday, June 20th

Time: 9:00am start (plan to arrive no later than 8:45)

Starting Location: Stop & Shop parking lot,11 East Main Street, North Canaan, CT [GPS Coordinates 42.023979, -73.321947]

I plan to be there - don't want to miss this fantastic route.

I've done this route quite a few times over the years. It is beautiful to say the least. I usually take it up to Green River and then come back on 22 (great downhill) and then left at Mitchell St. I didn't think Overlook Rd was rideable. Show's how much I know. Have a great ride. I'll be in VT for a Gravel Grinder around Lake Harriman if anyone else is looking for another option.

Don, all of our rides are guaranteed to include abundant amounts of adventure. Or absurdity. One or the other, but its free either way.

President Cunningham informed me on Waynebook today I was to check the forum. So here I am. I might actually make this ride. Will Coleman be leading it?

I'll be there.

That's Field Marshal General Admiral Cunningham to you pal. I changed the by-laws.

In case anyone out there wants to do this ride but would like a shorter distance, Betsy is going to start with us but take a left on route 23 (cutting off the top loop) and rejoin the route on the other side. Ride will be 48 miles.

See everyone tomorrow.

If its good enough for Wayne its good enough for anybody. See you in the morning.

I'm also in on this adventure

Well if Mikey is going then I'm in on this adventure too!

I'll be there.

Last minute re-route. The bridge in Falls Village is closed for construction so we have to cross the river on Route 7 (around miles 53-54). Thanks to Alex Combes for trying to ride there on Friday.

A post-ride note...after doing a little research it appears both Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon have moved. So never mind. Except Laura Linney now lives in Meryl Streep's old house.

Great, now I have to change my Strava title.

You should know better than to believe anything that comes out of my mouth.
