Thursday 9/21 - Collinsville night CX ride aka "The Waynewhiner"
Casual 6:30 departure from Collinsville. Why 6:30?
a) it's gonna get dark anyway so why rush the start
b) Boomer needs his walk beforehand
c) it's guaranteed to solicit an EBCC night ride history lecture from guess who
Easy pace, up Clear Brook around the Nepaug Res. Back to SE road and Steele in New Hartford. Farmington River tpk to Satan's Kingdom Rd and back via the Canton xfer station road. Lot's of dirt roads, all ridible but CX bikes are recommended. Headlights and blinkies a must. Wilson's Pub or the Crown after, TBD post ride.
This will be worth attending just to watch the "Satan's Kingdom Road vs. Breezy Hill" debate.

Yiu guys better go! My lights have been charged and now I'm not going to make it. I will be there next week...I don't think there are any soccer games. Anyhow, have fun.
To spare myself having to witness a temper tantrum by my riding partner, I just went along with his "plan" and skipped the debate. Unfortunately his plan involved getting lost in the woods and having to hike for a while.
If anyone is on the fence about riding in future weeks for fear the pace would be too peppy, never fear. Note the average speed of 11.8 mph.
We had a very pleasant ride followed by a nice meal at the Crown. No one Collinsville even blinked an eye at two middle-aged bald men sharing a quiet dinner together, but we need more people next week. Otherwise.....well you know how rumors get started ;)
