Sunday CX Ride (8/16)

Dust off your 'cross bikes! A ride is in the formative stages for this coming Sunday to accommodate a certain club member who thinks he needs D2R2 training (he doesn't). Starting location and time to be announced shortly.

This ride will be either:

  1. A 'cross ride,

  2. A gravel grinder,

  3. Adventure cycling,

  4. Monster-cross,

  5. Free-roading, or

  6. Some smart a$$ will bring his mountain bike and beat everyone up the hills anyway.

I'm up for any location. Just let me know the time and place.

Or maybe do it backwards so we climb up Bald Mountain?

Club Pace (whatever that means on dirt roads). Is it too early to invoke Winter Pace?

Interested....So are these actually "roads?" If you can map it then I assume so. Just dirt roads?

thx

Matt - just regular ol' dirt roads. Probably 60/40 dirt/paved ratio.

Recommend at least a 'cross bike. Some spots will be too sandy or gravelly for a road bike.

Woohoooo DIRT!

John, what time do you think the ride will finish?

It's only 28 miles, so I figure no more than 3 hours including a stop at the Southfield Store.

Thanks John! Excellent route. I think I say Eric headed back to check out that runner we passed.

Yeah, too bad Jim hijacked the ride and made us cut it short.

Wayyy too early. We have a whole season to start and finish before we can go to winter pace ;)

Ha! I knew you were all planning this so I secretly recorded our conversation at that stop sign where everyone agreed to cut the ride short. I will release the recording with Hillary's emails.
The photos are great and the ride was fantastic. The Mosaic, IPA and Blue Point beers were fantastic yet similar in taste.
