https://ridewithgps.com/routes/25408701 This is a predominantly dirt road ride (65%) from Salisbury up Mt Riga, over to Hillsdale, NY then back through S. Egremont (lunch @ Mom’s Rest.), then south to Salisbury along the cobble. You will need a triple ring road bike, mountain bike, or gravel bike. Road bikes should have at least a 28 mm tire. I’ve done it on 23 mm tires on a triple ring road bike, but it wasn’t a whole lot of fun going down Mt Riga Rd. I’d like to do a quick hike up Bald Peak just to the north of South Pond. Also the falls just to the south of the 1st pond should be spectacular so I plan on stopping to take a few pictures there. Mt. bike shoes with SPD cleats work fine for these easy hikes, but regular road pedals would be lethal. You’d be better off with sneakers of some kind carried in your pack. The bike climb up Mt. Riga is strenuous, but not impossible. Walking is allowed. We’ll start from the lot next to the town hall in Salisbury @ 10:00 am so please be early.
