Saturday 10/6 - Gravel and Garlic
Calling all garlic lovers! The Bethlehem fair grounds is hosting the Garlic Festival the weekend of October 6-7. A few years back the honorable Wayne Prescott treated us to a gravel tour thru western Litchfield County after which we headed over to the fairgrounds. It was so much fun we need to do it again.
Starting from the Bantam post office parking lot at 9AM we will head out for approximately 3 hours at casual B pace. The route will take us thru the scenic back roads of lower Litchfield County. Gravel or CX bikes are recommended. Route will be posted as soon as it is available.
After the ride it's a short trip down the to fair grounds all things garlic. With vampire season on the horizon you won't want to miss this!
Start/End location:

Honorable? Seriously? Highly doubtful.
Is that the ride we were promised we would see Sam Waterston mowing his lawn? I'm still pissed about that.
Count me in. Any ride the Honorable WP does is great.
Here's the route. Should be about 3 hrs.
It features the iconic Steep Rock Tunnel as well as the old mining path along the Shepaug River. Lots of dirt and little traffic. We will pass Anderson Cooper's house and Julie Prescott's former house. I guarantee you will see neither of them mowing the lawn or sunbathing.

That was a road ride and Gerry was with us. Don't misplace your anger from getting dropped worse than usual.
Argh... same day as Mansfield Hollow CX. See some of you for Monday night gravel.
Will someone work for me (haha)...sounds and looks like a great ride. Have fun!
I plan on joining the ride.
I'm definitely interested in joining.....hope I can keep up with you fast people :)
Route downloaded and ready to roll. Looking like a perfect fall day tomorrow! See everybody in Bantam at 9AM!
Just to clarify for anyone on the fence, this will not be a hammerfest. Some of my old crew from Litchfield may show as well. They are all sane and definitely don't "race".
This is a perfect ride for John Lockwood. What are the chances of seeing him there?

Ah, shucks. Do you miss me?
Would love to be there, but my knee has been $#*t lately.
It was a fun ride and you were missed. Thanks to Wayne for leading it. A route worthy of doing again.
This was evidently written sometime before we got lost and everyone yelled at me.
