Sat 7/7 ride from Greenfield, MA
The heat wave is supposed to break this coming Friday with thunderstorms and rain. This coming Saturday I’d like to do the Greenfield ride I missed earlier this season due to weather. The ride features 2 strong climbs in the 1st 12 miles then an easy cruise for the rest of the day. We’ll start from Greenfield Community College @ 9:30 am and be back around 2:00 or 3:00 depending upon stops, etc. Let me know if you will make it. Greenfield Com Col is 1:15 hr from West Hartford.

Last call for this ride. At this point it is Larry, and me, and possibly Renee, Mary Ellen, and Win. We can always use more company. Take Rt 2 west from I-91, then right on Colrain Rd. Park at Greenfield, Community College off Colrain Road, or if they are having an event that charges for parking go a little more north on Colrain Road and take a right on Nashs Mill Rd and park at the recreation area on the left. The college is about 75 min from West Hartford.
I’d like to start riding @ 9:30 so be early enough to get assembled before then. Bring plenty of water (camelbacks work great) as there are no shops until we get to Guilford @ mile 22.5. The total trip is 50 miles and 2,900’ of climbing. Almost all the climbing is in the 1st 12 miles so it’s pretty mellow after that. Notice a slight difference in the 1st climb from the previous map, longer climb, but with less slope and elevation.
I have space for one and maybe 2 folks in my car (if they’re both small). The weather is supposed to be perfect. Any breeze will be a tailwind after lunch.
