Hi All,

I am passing along information about a local Ride of Silence. Some of you may have participated in the past and the efforts are part of a worldwide effort to bring awareness to the safety of cyclists and the growing incidences of accidents between motorists and cyclists.

Join cyclists worldwide on May 16, 2018 in a silent, slow-paced ride in honor of those who have been hurt or killed while cycling on public roadways Cook out after! PICNIC – bring your own - - -

Wednesday, 5/16, 6pm start (arrive 5:45 to receive your free black armband)

Salmon Brook Park Granby - BY THE TENNIS COURTS, PARKING IN THE REAR - 13.5 mph, to Avon & back – 17 miles

Silent ride (no talking while riding, but you can still call out things & call out “slowing or stopping” = stay SAFE)

Bring a picnic/drinks for post ride picnic and conversations.

PLEASE FORWARD TO OTHERS & INVITE OTHERS -

Try to have front & rear lights Try to wear bright clothing Always look ahead, don’t slow down with riders behind you! Hear something, do not look back – do not slow down - keep pedaling -
Obey all road laws/rules at all times- act like a vehicle but ride to the right = do not ride double!
