We'll meet at 6:15 pm. Is there enough parking at the base of the Jessie Gerard Trail on East River Road? That's a very pretty hike.
Not sure about number of spaces but I'll bet it's a least partially plowed out. Since it'll be near record breaking cold and breezy, perhaps the turnout will be fewer than usual... Will we go up the waterfall or down it this year?
Down. I bought plenty of nylon 550 paracord last year, to aid with the descent the next time we did this.
Who's going to catch Ned this year? He would have slid all the way to the CT river if Bruce didn't catch him.
Should be epic. We will be in snowshoes this time and climbing down pine trees from cliffs might be awkward.
Actually, I've been eyeing a pair of Kahtoola Microspike Underwear & Gloves for just such an occasion.
> My favorite memory is of Carey Gregory sliding down the tree.
That's because your doctor instinct kicked in and you insisted on "catching" me as a slid down the final few feet. I don't think you'd want to try that with my shiny new Kahtoola spikes.
Let's see...nighttime, arctic cold with high winds, deep snow, steep terrain, a descent down an icy waterfall, parachute cord.... This should encourage a good turnout.
Drove up East River Rd today...parking area at base of Jesse Gerard Trail is plowed out pretty well....maybe 75% of total capacity. Hope I don't hear about you guys on the news Sat AM.

Unlikely that they find us until Sunday morning, so probably the Sunday evening news.

Says the man who appeared in my NBC-Connecticut news app.

My last TV appearance was on Candid Camera in 1st grade, so it was a long time....

This is Litchfield county we're talking about, so Sunday morning most likely means Sunday the 22nd.
