RFTCC-Wingbiter Friday 5/15

I haven't traveled all these roads, so please let me know if there's a reason we can't do this route. If some of the roads are a little rough, don't worry about me; I'll be riding Skip's bike.

A little less than 100 ft/ mile. Looks like a great ride

Mmmm, you might be tossing your bikes over the water company fence at mile 14. Maybe somebody else knows for sure.

Skip's bike can take it.

I will remember not to loan my bike to you in the future. I won't be here this week.

I think you flatted twice the last time we went around Highland Lake. The pavement there is simply terrible. I hope Skip has better tires but secretly hope you post a different route (maybe not so secretly). My loyalty to our posted ride will remain no matter what you choose.

A few weeks ago I rode many of the roads on the route and I agree with Jim - Winchester Roads are lousy (or they were at thet time) Not that it will stop me from riding, I will just ride slower ( can I possibly ride slower? )

Having missed the last few (hundred) wingbiters (feels like)... It looks like I'll make it!!! but will anyone remember me and will my tenure remain intact or am I like the new guy again?

Christian, not only are you the NG again but you'll have to survive Greg's new gravity group initiation test to regain acceptance. Good luck and we're all counting on you.

The last time I rode that road from 263 past Crystal Lake to 44 (mile 15) it was on a mt bike. Broken pavement at best, similar to the Collinsville section of the road over the Nepaug dam. There may be long stretches that weren't even paved, more trail like. I'll try to find out more on Friday. Might be best to skip that section entirely and just go up 263 then turn left on Platt Hill or Laurel Way, or just circle Highland lake That still leaves plenty of poor roads to travel, like the road around Highland lake and the Torrington section of West Hill road.

BTW, Christian who?

Addendum: I'm told that the road in question may not be as bad as it was when I last rode it. Likely a lot of sand on it though...

I'll be there this evening, where ever we go.
Michael (Red Mike)

Can't offer to much input on the route choices, but I'll say "Well, I'm with you fellars!" ( a line from the movie "Brother where Art Thou" after the character is asked to provide the third part of a swing vote). I'll be there to join the fun

Thanks everyone for showing the new guy around... Do you always stop mid-ride and move hot tubs?

That was special. Hope you liked the ride and will join us again some time!
