RFTCC-Wingbiter Friday 4/21-canceled. 4/22 canceled
I'm going to be running a little late tomorrow night (if I can make it at all; my bike's in the shop). So plan on a 6:15 pm start from New Hartford center. This is what I have in mind. Lights are a good idea.
Nice. 15' of gentle warmup before the pain sets in.
I'm in, as long as there is at least 20 feet of warmup before the hills AND there's beer after....
Not a favorable weather forecast at all for tonight. Rather than ride wet hills and finish in complete darkness, is there interest in moving this ride to Saturday?
s'ok for me too,
it would be easier for me if we can start a bit earlier on Saturday.....
9:30 okay, Tim? I need my beauty sleep. P.S. I'm having a new cassette, chain, crank, and rear wheel put on my bike as we speak. Ka-ching!
Saturday works for me
Looks like 9:30AM it is. Roads are still wet here and there is still some drizzle not visible on radar. I think a change in route to break in Greg's new drive-train is in order too. Southfield store?
if we are not meeting at new Harford center- let me know where to go! southfield store???
It's 50 degrees, roads are damp or outright wet, the hills are in fog, and it's a constant drizzle. Tonight's ride is canceled and a ride is planned from New Hartford center tomorrow at 9:30AM, to the Southfield store and back, about 50 miles total.
sounds good, thanks , see you in the morning sun
I salute the excellent judgment displayed above with respect to weather, daylight, start time, and destination. There remains, of course, the matter of route: Presume Sandy Brook/183 outbound, with the return leg to be negotiated over coffee and pastries at the Store? (I like to see the llamas...but the hilltop dirt road would no doubt best be left for another, drier day.) A return via 57 to 8 would present lots of opportunity for paceline work, and the rollers on 57 can be fun.
All Wingbiters:
We have a problem. It seems our ride leader, Greg, will not have his bike ready in time for an AM ride, but will be ready after noon. Do we ride at 9:30 as planned or ride later on in the day? Greg can't post since he doesn't have computer access outside his office.
Doug
I can only do an AM ride. If the majority want the PM, no worries, i can join the Granville ride
Happy to loan Greg a set of road wheels for his cross bike if that'd help. Have both 9- & 11-speed sets available.
I have a 10 speed set of wheels I can bring
