RFTCC-Wingbiter Friday 2/5-Cancelled! Hike instead.

6 pm from New Hartford center. I won't be there this week; camping in Savoy Forest, MA. Don't let me down! I want to be able to say the Wingbiters rode all year 'round in 2016! Here's my proposed route.

Nice reasonable Winter route. 'Biters should know there are two dirt portions on this ride, Gray Road and Pussy Lane. Gray Road is short and you may need to avoid some gravel areas. Pussy Lane is generally a bit better condition than Gray road. I'll be joining the group at Bruning and 219.

Gray Road is like 200m long! If you want to add some dirt go up Shady Brook from Winchester to Cedar Lane and put those cross bikes to good use.

And please keep it down when you pass Burwell. I may be taking a nap :)

Road bikes, everybody, road bikes!

Let's see what the weather gods bring, but I plan on being there

Hmm. Looking like a Merlot evening and a ride this weekend. My daughter saw a person riding up Avon mountain this morning.

In reply to Brett

Only if Pat comes. Any ice?

I'm thinking about a Jones mountain hike. Bring us back to our roots.

enough for snowshoes?

In reply to Dr.Bruce

May be enough for snowshoes but I will measure later on and report back here. Yaktrax, micro spikes, crampons all will work. Spouses, kids, girlfriends, mistresses should be invited too.

YEAH!!! A hike Finally!!! I've been getting tired of my bike:)

OK. Ride cancelled. 6"+ wet snow on the ground here in New Hartford. Streets are a mess. Freezing temps at present and below by 6PM. Let's meet at Jones mt parking lot on Steele road and hike on up. The lot may be plowed or not. 4WD a good choice. Footwear of your choice.

No ice ?? Ok, I'll go anyway. See ya at 6

It's nasty out there with all that wet white stuff... Forget the Jones Mtn hike and join me for a hike up Mount Everest!! Log in to "Phlift"!!!!, it's the virtual hike simulator you can do from the comfort of your damp cold basement. All you need to do is plug your hiking boots into the USB port and you can virtually climb anywhere on the planet... or off too! like next week we'll do a Hike into the Valles Marineris
