It got very cold all of a sudden, so I plan to incorporate a shorter distance, plenty of time in the woods, and plenty of climbing, to keep us warm: Route. 6 pm from New Hartford center. Oh, and mountain bikes, for sure.
Is there any interest in doing a road ride & then meeting up at Chat's afterwards ??
That's a good question, Alan. I know you prefer road rides. A cross bike would also be okay for the ride I have planned (I used my cross bike the last time we did this), but a mountain bike would be better.

Good choices. Going to be really cold.
I'd like to go longer if possible. It's difficult to bolt out of work early to ride for 15 miles. It's not like it's going to be so cold that water freezes or anything. I might try to convince everyone to go a bit further like I did (successfully) last week.

We did a similar ride a couple weeks ago, was longer. How would that be?
Sure, I'd be up for riding longer. Could even do Two loops up Greenwoods Road
It looks like it could be in the mid twenties... I haven't riden when it's that cold, but be up for trying out a road ride with anyone else. Been spinning in the warmth.... Red Mike
Too cold for my fingers and toes - will snowshoe once that weather arrives.
The longer route looks good and I planning on joinng y'all. See ya then

I am not sure it will be much warmer to snowshoe
Heading to New Hampshire for the weekend. No bike ride for me. Keep warm and don't get lost!
I had all the good intentions to come, but won't be able to make... stay warm, definitely an onion soup night.
I won't be there, going to an art show opening
Count me in. I got a little shake down when I arrived late Tuesday and just went out for a short 6 miles and was glad I wasn't committed to a longer ride. The temp and wind were similar to what's expected tonight but for tonight I've added a warm vest layer, better gloves, my ski face mask, got some clear lens goggles and I'm ready to go with no exposed skin save the bottom of my nose. Bring it on!
Can I bribe anyone with cake? We may have to defrost it but I'm sure it will be fine after beer and wings and fries and soup ...
