RFTCC-Wingbiter Friday 10/30
I won't be riding on Friday, so Brett has volunteered to hijack the ride. Do whatever he says.
WE WILL BE RIDING MOUNTAIN AND CROSS BIKES
The route will be posted later tonight. There will be no single track trails. About 60 40 split of paved and dirt roads.

Why? Don't you do this on Thursdays? Friday is for road bikes - I checked. Is it weather related?
From the ride calendar description:
Mixture of both on road and Off-road night rides. Head lights and tail lights required. Check the forum weekly to see which bike to bring. Road or Cyclocross or mountain bikes. Route varies each week. Mixture of road, dirt road and single-track trails through New Hartford, Winsted, Riverton.
This is a nice rehab ride after a beer drinking and brat eating tour of Germany, Austria, and Hungary.

I was thinking of others that don't have a cross bike. Seems like there are plenty of chances for cross rides but little for road rides.
I'm going to be riding my mountain bike. To answer Jim's question not everyone likes to ride their road bikes in the dark. Not to mention the rain and wind Wednesday and Thursday left a lot of sticks and leaves in the roads.

Have you considered supplying cross bikes for the less fortunate people?

Oh no! Not another brat!? I can't take it anymore. I will likely be joining you tonight en route on Stub Hollow.
Oh Boy! Bratwurst night - can't wait. I'll have my Cross-Road Brat-Eating bike
Daniel and I don't have cross bikes, which is why we're showing at 6:00 up with our road bikes. Join us if you like.

Sorry Jeff. Just saw this post this morning. Opted for a date with my wife instead of riding.
Sorry Jim. I should have posted sooner, but I wasn't sure what time I'd be getting out of work until I was actually out. Daniel and I had a good ride up and over Saville Dam, then to the top of Sandy Brook. Maybe we'll try to hijack (un-hijack?) this coming Friday's ride too.
You won't need to; I'm back and it'll be a road ride.
