R.U.S.H. Ride (B) - Thursday March 31 - Postponed
Another weekday workday, and millions of Americans will toil faithfully at the factory, office or job site, engaging in productive economic activity, contributing to the Gross Domestic Product and providing for their families. Not us! We're riding bikes. Join us for an expanded and more inclusive version of the classic "hooky" ride: the Retired, Unemployed, Slacker or Hooky (RUSH) ride.
Start location: Matthies Grove, Peoples State Forest, East River Road, Barkhamsted, CT
Time: 10:00 am
Pace: B (15-17 mph ave) with plenty of regrouping
Distance: 62 miles with over 5,000 ft. of climbing (some dirt sections but okay for road bikes)
Ride Leader: Lew
Link to Route (Note that map represents intended route, and does not account for mid-ride route changes, getting lost, or forgetting where we parked our cars).
Possible lunch stop in Norfolk, but bring enough food & drink for the entire ride since stores and restaurants have been known to close their doors when they see us coming.

Shouldn't you guys be at a Bernie Sanders rally?

We are rescheduling Thursday's 62 mile/5000' RUSH ride to a later date due to the forecast 20-30mph wind with gusts of 40. The route is mostly at higher elevations and wide open to the wind and features some long descents that would be pretty exciting with 40 mph cross winds. We are open to suggestions as to a reschedule date...during the week, on a weekend...whenever.
Sam and I plan to ride the route tomorrow Wed 3/30 10 AM from Matthies Grove parking lot at Peoples. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome.

The reason we are postponing is the real fear that the skinny guys will blow away.
