It may snow a little tonight, but Monday is looking good for the first Monday C ride of 2017!

Meeting will be across from Tulmeadow Farms, and we will depart at 6 pm. I would anticipate a fairly flat, not too long, "get the year started" ride. We should be done by twilight, but lights are not the worst idea. Temps will be in the mid 50's, but it does get chilly as the sun goes down.

We did have a really good 2016, and looking forward to a really good biking season in 2017.

Good start to the season last night with 20+ riders. Cheers to our ride leaders (Don and Bruce) for keeping all the early season energy in check ;)

For next week we should consider splitting into three groups if we have ride leaders to do so. I think we needed one more pace right in the middle of the two groups we had last night, and we certainly had the numbers to make it work.

One other reminder that I am passing on from a very experienced rider who joined up with us: let's be sure to keep our pace lines no more than two riders abreast. When we are on a busier road (with cars passing every couple of minutes from both directions) be sure to pass the "car back" call forward and move to single file. Remember, the rider to the right yields to the rider on their left when doing so.

This is safer for all and we can avoid another motion before the state congress for a single file law for cyclists :)
