Memorial Day "C" ride from Rocky Neck SP
I think this ride should work well for the holiday. We’ll start from Rocky Neck State Park @ 10:00 am. We’ll head toward Niantic, but take a detour and ride around Black Point (We could even harass Dr. Bruce at Giants Neck!). then it’s over the bridge and over the hill to Harkness SP, The O’Neil theatre, and Ocean Park. From there it’s up to Shaw Cove and the Lobster Shack (lunch) and Fort Trumbull. On the trip back we’ll stop at the ice cream store in Niantic for desert!. Then on to Rocky Neck. The distance is 34 miles and only 1,100’ of climbing. George and Mary Ellen did some of that with me this past winter. It’s an easy and really interesting- a “C” pace (12 mph avg) ride. Let me know. Hey Don, I do hope to join you. I am in Niantic, not far from the start. Anyone wishing to shower before heading home is welcome to my house.
