Jan 18 Zwift group ride 7 pm
I will be doing a group ride on zwift this wednesday at 7 pm. We will be doing the mountain route. Pace will be about 2 to 3 watt/kg. I will be posting additional details latter in the week.
Please log on to zwift 15 minutes early so we can start on time.
Christian will be posting the group communication method.
UPDATE
I could not make this an official group ride.
Step 1 after logging in and paring trainer. Make sure the Route is the mountain loop. With this selection you will not have to make any turns selections during the ride. Step 2 click ride Step 3 then press the letter “P” and enter promo code “bikeandbeer”.
Then make your way to the start/finish line.
If you are late to the ride select one of us who are riding to start with us.
>" I've begun my taper in preparation for this."
Does this include weight doping to see what it's like to ride at Brett's weight?
Hey, does anybody want to ride bikes outdoors this weekend? The pace will be 2-3 watts/kg.
I think Greg should of bought a smart trainer instead of the fat bike.

You can't get cold or fall down on a trainer. Fat bike was the much better option

Ye of little faith
Since we're on the subject, will the club insurance cover my losses if I fall off my bike in the house and land on my coffee table or crash my bike through my big screen TV?
BTW, we want matching kits for tomorrow night.

Only if you are wearing your helmet
Does that promo code get you half transparent bike shorts? We know who's in if so.
I'll plan to be on Zwift at 7:00
Thanks for that clarification, Pat. LOL
BTW, for those people that plan on riding tonight, add EBCC after your name in Zwift so that you stand out better in the leaderboard.
Thanks Brett for putting that together. It was fun, unofficially of course. It's something to look forward to and certainly gets your HR elevated during crappy weather.
Nice ride everyone. Next Wednesday is Richmond course. I am not a fan of that course. We can change the day of the week Of the ride or change the date on our computers to ride watopia or London. What do you guys think?

If everyone is computer savvy enough to change the dates on their computers let's do that. We can ride Watopia virtually alone as a group. I've done it many times. You just have to remember at the end to finish the ride but don't save to Strava immediately. Go back and change the computer date back to the real date then post to Strava.

You've ridden alone, with no one else at all? That's weird. Maybe not safe. Did you have Find My Friends running at least?
Changing date can be done on an iOS device too by going to settings/general/date & time and turning off "set automatically." Don't forget to re-enable the setting when you're done. Those of us running the iOS version may have to upload to Strava at the end of our ride. No .FIT file is saved on your device for future uploads and you may risk losing the ride if you don't upload it. Beware that the date on Strava will be the date you have chosen if in the past or the real date if you set your device to the future (probably the better option).
What was the problem with setting up a formal group ride this week?
I saw this today. The app does cost 99 cent so make sure you clear it with your wife or ask Doug or Christian to dip into the Wingbiter fund. > Actually you can use the same approach as uploading workouts and use iFunBox to download, edit, and upload the prefs.xml file with the node in place.> > it says ‘Jailed’ in iFunBox, 6S Plus iOS 10.2. I found it under AppFileSharing->Zwift->Zwift->prefs.xml> > You have a prefs.xml file in your Zwift user directory (which is in your Documents/Zwift directory). Open this file in a text editor like Notepad, and simply add the following text to force Zwift to place you in Watopia, Richmond or London.> > To ride Watopia, add: 1 To ride Richmond, add: 2 To ride London, add: 3 http://zwiftblog.com/world-tag/
