Hurricane Magnet Ride, Sunday 10/9
I have succumbed to the peer pressure only J-Ro can apply and have agreed to lead another celebrity-studded* gravel/dirt road ride this Sunday. The real reason I'm doing this is it will surely attract Hurricane Matthew and 10" of rain (and cancel the ride). Our pond is so low a mysterious iron bridge appeared out of nowhere last week and there are smallmouth bass standing on the railings waving white flags.
A 'cross bike is highly recommended because if you bring a road bike and get a flat, we'll leave you for the leaf-peeping New Yorkers to berate and/or enslave.
Here's the route and here's the start point.
Start time is 9 AM. Coffee/beer is a possibility along the route but make sure to bring plenty of snacks and water; we may not stop.
*Actual celebrities en route: Anderson Cooper('s house), Julie Prescott (if you are lucky), and the (horses of the) former owner of the Miami Heat.
Ha! I'm in. Looks like fun. Coffee would be great but no pressure (tee hee).
Your standard disclaimer should include a statement about on the fly route modifications that are dependent on your previous days workout.
There is something wrong with your link to the start point. For those who haven't parked there you can use the route map and it's the parking lot on the right before the end of the road. I admit that it's so easy to find from the route map that I may have been trolled here.
It looks like the hurricane magnet is not going to work (sorry bass) so I'm in. Will be on a cross bike to avoid enslavement by New Yorkers. To avoid crankiness a coffee stop would be a good idea and glad to see the celebrity sightings have been reduced to more realistic expectations of a house, some horses and Wayne's wife (anybody that can put up with Wayne does deserve a certain celebrity status).

"After listening to me blather for hours, you might get to ride on a road that was once traversed by Sam Waterston's pickup truck, if you're lucky."
There, I fixed that for you.
It worked J-Ro !!! We've got ourselves another great ride I'll be there
Not to be an angry Mike but it looks like freaking rain tomorrow. And I have a preseason wolfpack game at 1. The wife likes some hockey
I'm in weather permitting.
Ride is on. Not raining now and wind has picked up from the NW so anything significant that does fall will blow by.
