Hillfest 2019 - Friday - June 21 - 5:30PM

Hillfest...you've heard about it, and you may have ridden it...and you may have done it a few times. Just like the Summer Solstice...it's that time again!

The date has been set for Friday, June 21st, with a departure from Canton High School on Simonds Avenue, Canton at 5:30PM. There is usually another group that heads out at 5:00PM, and I will ask for anyone doing so to please post that intent.

As we chose the Friday date (which is the actual Summer Solstice), we thought it would be great to bring the Hillfest riders, Wingbiter riders, or any EBCC members together at Brewery Legitimus for a post ride beverage and pizza. Rehashing the ride is always fun, and a Friday night brings a bit of a social time too. We'll order pizza as we know our rider numbers.

So...make sure your shifting and brakes are working well, and that your lights are charged. We'll have a great time rolling through the rather taxing hills that surround us.

All the regularly scheduled rides will still take place during the week of Hillfest.

The Summer Solstice ride is looking like a time to celebrate some sunshine after a rainy week!

Spread the word, have your bikes and lights ready...and let's ride some hills! Departure is 5:30PM from Canton High School.

Is anyone planning to begin at 5PM?

All roads seem to ready for us...just always use your caution when descending, and respect your space around you and the other riders.

And finally...we will see you at Brewery Legitimus after the ride for pizza and a tasty brew! Even if you don't do the ride, or if you do the Wingbiter ride, please join us!

Hope to see you on Friday!

Sounds like a fun event. Can anyone do this ride? I am not a member of your club but came across this on strava. Thanks, DH

The ride is open, but if a person is not a club member, there is a waiver we will ask you to sign. If you are not familiar with the area, it may be a good idea to have the route on your phone or navigation device, as it is not a full regroup ride. The ride tends to separate into a few compatible groups. Great terrain on the longest day of the year! Maybe you can become a club member! Thanks for inquiring.

Well, whoever prayed to the weather Gods - it's working. See you all at 5:30!!
