Gravel Grinder - Saturday 11/21
What the hell is this? Gravel grinder/cyclocross ride/adventure cycling/dirt road ride - Pick whatever bicycle industry marketing term you prefer!
Date: Saturday, November 21
Time: 9:00 am start
Meet at: Water Street in Falls Village, CT (dirt lot at Appalachian Trail head) - GPS coordinates 41.955990, -73.367488
Route: Courtesy of Brent
Planned route is 44 miles, 50% dirt and moderate hills. We may modify the route depending on the weather.
Pace: CP "Winter Pace" (with appropriate doping controls)
Bring adequate food and drink for the duration of the ride (no planned stop). Also bring a change of clothes for a post-ride meal.
Plan on lunch at the Toy Maker Cafe in Falls Village after the ride.
I found out that the bridge in Falls Village has just started being replaced and may not be usable by the time of the ride. Hopefully it will be passable by bike, or we can adjust the route.
Weather looks like it will be pretty good. Mid 30s at the start, but should get up to the high 40s.
Tweaked the course a bit to take into account the bridge issue: Revised Route
If anyone is interested in carpooling, I can take one person. I can meet at the commuter lot at 179/44 shortly after 8:00

I should check the forum more often. Almost missed this. I will be there tomorrow since it's only a 1/2 hour drive from my house. Don't leave without me.
If Wayne is showing up then you need a minimum of six other riders. I think its in the bylaws. Look under 'minimum rider requirement for chatter distribution on group rides as pertaining to certain individuals'. See you tomorrow.
Then count me in as the 6th
And, I'll be glad to meet at the commuter lot and see if we can drive together. What time ?

Wish I could be there to absorb some of the chatter......
