Cyclocross Skills on Tuesdays!
Skills and Drills!
Tuesdays until further notice.
Meet in the upper lot at Stratton Brook Forest, the lot accessed off of Rt. 309 at 4PM (or whenever you can make it) until darkness.
We have been working with Junior riders beginning at 4PM and NOW...we invite anyone interested in some pointers. Come at whatever time you can make it!
At this point, the junior riders can demonstrate their step through dismounts and remounts along with dismounts for shouldering and running with a bike. Most people focus on fitness...now you can have fun and focus on some refined, efficient skill development.
We have barriers, cones, sand and run ups! This IS NOT a training race, but a focus on skills!
We encourage growing the interests of our youth and want to help all you lucky cyclists that have a cyclocross bike...so come on out!
Contact Jan@BenidormBikes.com if you have any questions...or post your questions here.
Topics covered: Choosing the right start gear Choosing your start line position Cornering and Body Contact Step through Dismounts Remounts Run Ups Sand Pits Shouldering vs carrying vs pushing your bike And all kinds of useful tips!
Hope to see you there! Jan
The skills practices have been awesome fun. If there are any other juniors out there in the club ranks that are interested, we would love to have them come out and play. Hope we see a good turnout on Tuesday. Peter
I went on Tuesday and can say this is great for anyone from beginner to more advanced to hone their Cyclocross skills. Come on out.
I agree with Tim completely, the Tuesday night CX practices have been really great. Jan does a super job of breaking down the essential skills so that beginners learn the proper technique and the park has all the features needed to practice those skills. My boys have been making steady improvement and it is showing in the races. If you can make it next Tuesday, please come out and give it a try. Also, bring out those juniors!
