Christmas and New Year Wingbiter rides
I'm wondering how many people would be interested in a Saturday, daytime, day-after-Christmas ride? And whether we should ride during the day on New Year's Day, that evening (as usual), or during the day on the following day (Saturday, Jan. 2). For the record, my votes would be for daytime rides on Saturday Dec. 26 and Saturday Jan. 2, but I'll do whatever the majority wish.
My vote: Sat. 12-26: Daytime. Would offer up Sam and Lew's recent ride for discussion as a route. Perhaps we can convince them to lead it? They started in Riverton, we could still start in N.H. Sam and Lew's excellent route
Daytime on 1-1 or 1-2-16. Either day OK by me.

Why not ride on Christmas Day? Our club has a rich tradition of riding on religious holidays given the large number of pagans, heathens, blasphemers, infidels and fornicators in our midst.
Actually, I won't be around for Christmas, but would vote for a Saturday, Jan. 2 day ride. I predict we'll still have mid-40s temps.
I like Lew and Sam's ride as posted, from Riverton, on the day after Christmas (Boxing Day?) at--what do you think?--11 am?

I vote for daytime riding
I like the idea of Saturday daytime road rides for both of those days. Even though we are part French-Canadian, the day after Christmas in our house has traditionally been designated "Inner Tube Patching Day" (not Boxing Day). We can push patching back one day in favor of a warm winter road ride. Hopefully, we won't have anything new to add to the heap after our 12/26 ride. Got patches?
I like the daytime ride options, but this weekend I'm out on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Saturday. Sunday the 27th might work and next week is another whole different set of possibilities.
See everybody at 11 am in Riverton (anybody know the best place to park?) on Staturday, the day after Christmas, for "Sam and Lew's Excellent Ride."

Park in the Glass Blowing Studio parking lot. I usually try to park towards the back to leave space for them and their customers.
Official address appears to be 3 Robertsville Rd. Turn left in the town as if you're heading to Sandy Brook and it's off to your left, only a couple of driveways from the turn.
Looks like an old church, cause it used to be one.
Still haven't heard if Lew and Sam are going to lead us, or at least join us enroute.
Oh, okay. I always thought that was a church. That's because I'm usually trying to keep up with everybody and never have time to enjoy my surroundings. (But I've memorized every tread on Doug's rear wheel!)
Will try to join you on the ride....if you want me to lead, it will be guaranteed winter- slower- than- molasses- uphill pace.
Saturday forecast looks like 80% rain in the low 40's. Sunday is 40% rain and 60. If I'm going to get wet, I'd rather have it warm.
Great Lew, and we'll watch the weather. Don't think anyone is much interested in getting wet and cold (or going fast). Hopefully one of the forecasts that puts the rain later in the day will hold true.
Hi all, I'm up for a road ride, but have fallen out of shape, so be at the back of the pack. I can't get details on the route from the link, so figure out if I have to cut out early tomorrow. Weather looks ok. It be great to see you all. Michael, Red Mike
Thanks Lew and Sam for a great ride and route. Looking forward to summer's version of the famous "rigor mortis" ride.
