"C" ride tonight, 6-27-16, cancelled
Keeping a careful eye on the radar. If it looks like it may rain during our ride (both good and bad news) then I will cancel the ride. If cancelled, this will be posted here by 5:00.
Do we rely on the National Weather Service, the Gerard Weather Station, or Roy's shoulder pain to predict the weather?
Before canceling tonight's ride, please carefully focus your attention on rules 5 and 9.
The Velominati rules do not apply to Monday rides. And it looks like it's gonna rain!
Areas that this band of rain has crossed over have had between .01" to over 1" of rain. Let's see what the next 45 minutes looks like. Maybe it'll dry up.
It's a persistent light rain in new Hartford and will soon be doing the same in Simsbury. The radar echoes are not diminishing and are actually filling in. I'm cancelling the ride, hoping it rains harder, and isn't just virga (look that one up). If anyone rides they do so unofficially. Post here your experience and I'll post my final rain total.
> .01" of annoying spritzing rain. Looks like Bruce rode. Anyone else?
Not me. I aired my tires, filled my water bottle, got my bike kit on, and then decided to do a last minute radar check just in case. And there it was, this great big line of showers right on my doorstep over New Hartford.
So I put street clothes back on, dumped my water bottle, and watched as absolutely nothing happened. Eesh. Even radar can't be trusted this year.
Greg, Jeff, and Bruce rode in the rain. It was not very much, but did end just as we finished. Perfect.
It was a good call to cancel it officially....
