8/29/17 Tuesday B Ride, DEPARTS AT 5:30PM, 29 miles, 1600' climbing
A day at the beach leaves my back needing some deep therapy! Imagine...a sandy beach! Next time I will stick to the bike. Anyhow...as a result of some feedback related to distance and daylight, the last Tuesday B Ride on the calendar, 8/29/17, will depart the same 244 Farms Village Road at 5:30PM...Please be on time as daylight as dusk will chase this ride...blinky lights (front and rear) are always welcome and recommended.
So, since I am off the bike, Jim (with great appreciation from me) will take the ride.
The ride will head north, tried and true access to Day Street. From Day Street, head north on 189 and make a right onto East Street. Take the immediate left onto Loomis and head north to taking a right onto Klaus Anderson. Take Klaus Anderson to make a right onto Ed Holcomb Street. (In case you are not sure if you are taking the correct right, there is a dirt road named Mason Rd. on your left where you turn onto Ed Holcomb). Travel south on Ed Holcomb to a stop sign and make a quick left and quick right onto Mort Vining Rd / Vining Rd. Take that to the intersection where you cross over to Wells Street. Make a left onto 189 and take the right onto Creamery Hill. Take Creamery Hill up to Day St. Turn left onto Day St...crossing Rt 20 and then taking a left onto Simsbury Rd. Stay on Simsbury road up and down the hill to turn right onto Barndoor Hills. Make a right onto Holcomb and then left onto Old Farms to Farms Village and to the start.
I will miss riding with you all, and want to thank everyone for coming out for the Tuesday rides!
As we move into the fall, check into the Ride Forum for posts about additional Tuesday rides departing at 5:30PM. Those may be less formal...show and ride with no pre-mapped ride.
Also, for all EBCC members, remember to mark your calendars for the Annual Fall EBCC Ride and Picnic on Saturday September 30th, rain date Sunday, October 1st. Walt and Betsy are this year's hosts and we will be in for some great rides, food, fun and awards! Stay tuned!
Thanks again and ride safely! Jan
