8/15/17 Tuesday B Ride, 33 miles 1900'
We are losing daylight rather rapidly...sunset is at 7:50PM. Blinky lights and even headlights are always a good suggestion for everyone's safety. Anyhow...roll out is still at 6PM.
We will head out via West Simsbury, heading north to Firetown, Simsbury Rd., Day St to 189N. As we regroup at the junction of 189 and Day Street, riders can make a decision for their next portion of the ride. The planned ride will take us up Silver Street, make a right onto Cross Rd./ Sodom Rd which puts on onto Rt 57. At that junction, we will head west into Granville and come back heading south on 189. Depending upon the group's pace and number of cyclists, some may choose to ride straight through on Silver St and meet the rest of the group as they head south on 189...We will make sure everyone is clear on that at the start.
As we come down 189 towards Granby, we will make a right onto North Church Street, to Kelley Lane and Bushy Hill. We will continue back via Barndoor Hills, Holcomb and Old Farms to Farms Villlage to the starting parking lot.
The rides will be getting shorter as we lose our daylight...so let's make the most of these great rides!

> As John noted before, Barndoor Hills is chip sealed. Be careful
I think the chip seal is only in Simsbury, so it could affect the route only at mile 29.1 to 29.6. Maybe hang a left onto Simsbury Road and then a quick right onto Holcomb to go around this section.
Thanks for the chip seal update. I will make that announcement at the beginning of the ride and take us up Simsbury Rd. To Holcomb.
Thanks again!
Jan, If you/others are riding to/from Simsbury ride also remember: North Mountain Rd. at Simsbury town line down to Shingle Mill ending at Flamig farm is also Chip sealed! very loose gravel!
