2/20 Dam Sunday Ride!
2/20...2/21...whatever it takes.
Although the official Sunday shop rides begin on March 6th I plan to take advantage of the nice weather and head out from the shop at 8:30 (which btw is the official start time this season).
This Dam ride will head over to Collinsville and the Nepaug Dam. From there we'll climb the easy side of South Rd, cross 44 and head up 219 to the Saville Dam. Then it's down to Pleasant Valley and over to Riverton to the Hog's Back dam. Then up the undammed Sandy Brook Road. That should take about 2 hours at winter pace (15-16 mph average) so we can decide in Colebrook to either head back via Smith Hill (50 or so miles total) or forge ahead to Winchester Center and return via Cedar Lane and 202 in New Hartford (65 miles total).

First reaction: too dam early!
(I seem to remember a winter tradition of 10:00 vs 9:00, as opposed to going earlier/colder.)

Talking about Sunday. The 8:30 start is being established so that folks with noon responsibilites can join us.
It's an early start for late Feb but temps should be fairly mild this weekend.
