TOKENEKE CLASSIC ROAD RACE...Volunteers Needed

The 2016 Tokeneke Classic Road race takes place Sunday, August 14th

In reply to timwern

The 2016 Tokeneke Classic Road race takes place Sunday, August 14th. Registration is now open at BikeReg.com. EBCC has been a huge contributor to this USA Cycling sanctioned event in recent years. We have committed a minimum of 15 volunteers...hopefully more. This also fulfills the USA Cycling requirement for EBCC to have the ability to race under our banner.

We need Volunteers to make this race happen. This race is in our back yard (East Hartland, CT) where many of us ride regularly. You can both race and volunteer as many do. We really need help from non-racers too. The club with the most volunteers gets 2 cases of beer. We won this last year for the 2nd year in a row!!

VOLUNTEER Registration just opened at our new Volunteers site: https://www.volunteersignup.org/9J8J9 to sign up and get your top choice of duty. Make sure you register as a member of EBCC so the club gets credit for your help.

We need help with lead car drivers, road marshals, registration table, feed zone, finish line & parking lot. Call or email me with questions... twern@comcast.net Thanks!!

I signed up at the URL you posted but I didn't see a place to affiliate myself with EBCC, so I am currently not contributing to any beer bonus.

Chris, thanks for posting. Forgot to add that field. Let me see if I can do it now.

Ok that seems to be a limitation on this Volunteer Website. Let me know when you signup. But try to put (EBCC) after your last name.

So I would register as Tim Wern (EBCC)

I will also do a cross reference with our member list at the end to make sure.

Thanks!

I didn't notice the part about the (EBCC) suffix until after my wife Veronica and I signed up for registration and lead car duty, but we're in for the day and hopefully earning some beer for the club. It's going to be a fun day!

Much appreciation for the support from Skip Slater, Eric and his friends at Center Subaru, and Aetna.

Jeff, got it! Thanks again for the support!

Ok, now only 10 weeks away from the Tokeneke Classic Road Race around Barkhamsted Reservoir!

We still need plenty of volunteers. Sign-up now and you will have a better choice of duties that suit your schedule.

We are still in need of drivers for the Tokeneke Road Race Aug. 14th. Pace cars, officials car and wheel support cars. There is a short credentialing process with USA Cycling so we would like to get these approved now. So please sign-up if you are able to drive one or more of the races. It's the best view of the race! Right in the action. Again here is the link Volunteer Spot

Thanks! Tim

All Volunteers for Tokeneke Road Race (Aug. 14th) will receive this snazzy Volunteer t-shirt (Anvil ringspun, very nice!) as well as a free lunch!

We also have some cool Tokeneke t-shirts and race jerseys for sale if you are interested. They feature sponsor logos from Slater Building, Center Subaru, Benidorm and, of course, Eastern Bloc. We were lucky to get a famous jersey designer to donate her time to create our products. She designed the current red & black BMC World Pro Team kits that many of you are familiar with if you watch the Tour de France or other UCI races.

Thanks Walt & Betsy!!

Hey Tim. We're looking forward to working this Sunday's race. In light of feedback that we've seen on the TOTLH , it would probably be a good idea to have a message sent out through Bikereg.com to all registered Tokeneke racers, stressing the importance of proper cycling etiquette. You know first-hand how easy it can be to loose a race venue.

Jeff Will do. Thanks! Always a good reminder. We still need 4 marshals for the Sunday morning time slots. We also have one opening at the registration table for late morning/early afternoon. Any more volunteers out there?

Great response from EBCC so far. Thanks! Sign Up HERE!

Just signed up for one of the morning marshal spots. Always wanted to be a marshal - like Matt Dylan. Do we get a badge and a six shooter?
