Bike Friendly Canton...continues

Just a few short years ago, a few of us worked together to help Canton become a Bike Friendly Community, as recognized through the League of American Bicyclists.

Myself and Tim B. (a Benidorm Bikes' customer) worked with Neil Pade, our Town Planner, and Chief Arciero in completing the very extensive application. Eventually, Canton was recognized with an Honorable mention, and received a report with our 'short comings' and a checklist that could help us achieve an attainable bronze level recognition.

Tim is reviving our efforts and with scheduled monthly meetings, we will organize our efforts to resubmit a Bike Friendly Canton application. We have had engineering studies for Safe Routes to School and there are plenty of other ways we can help raise the awareness for bike and pedestrian safety.

I would like to ask you to join us on November 20th from 8-9PM at the Canton Community Center, Room D, for the first meeting. The second meeting is scheduled for December 18, from 8-9PM at the same location.

If you have any questions, please contact bikefriendlycanton@gmail.com , or post your question here, and we will be sure to follow up.

You may share this information with anyone. You don't have to be an EBCC member to help with these efforts, but I thought this would be a great goal for us to come together in supporting.

Thank you for your consideration.

I’d like to be a part of this effort, and will try to join the next meeting.

Thanks Brent,

I have spoken to a few others and see this as an opportunity for our club to make a difference within our community. I will hope for you and others to join us.
