Benidorm Consignment Sale May 4th, 5th and 6th - Volunteers Needed

Hello Fellow EBCCers!

The Benidorm Consignment sale with be held on Saturday 5/5 from 9AM to 5PM and Sunday 5/6 from 10AM to 5PM.

The Eastern Bloc Cycling Club has a long tradition of helping with the sale by assisting shoppers as well as set up and breakdown of the event. Volunteer shifts are typically 4-5 hour blocks but any help you can provide is always appreciated. Anyone who has volunteered in the past, please feel free to chime in on how much fun this can be. You get to enjoy the company of friends, be outside, and talk about a bikes all day long.

The key area where EBCC members can help is in keeping a vigilant eye. The sale attracts large crowds, particularly on Saturdays, and bicycles have gone missing in the past. Anyone leaving with a bike should have a shop printed receipt in hand. If you see anything that appears suspicious, notify a shop employee ASAP. There will be a brief volunteer orientation at the shop on Friday at 6PM. Please try to be there, particularly if you are volunteering in the afternoon to avoid any day-of confusion. On volunteer day please arrive a few minutes before your shift.

Please sign up to volunteer your time by responding to this thread and I will update the list. Saturday morning is usually the busiest time so the more the merrier!

I can help out Sunday Morning.

If anyone talks to Laura or Stuart, Remind them that Craftsbury is still open with snow this weekend. ---R---

Wyatt is doing the SHRoW ride that weekend, but I'll be signing up for a time slot (probably Sunday afternoon). Will advise, once we figure out our weekend schedule. - Jeff

I have a full-day skills clinic on Saturday, but you can put me down for the 10-2 shift on Sunday. As long as the weather holds and I don't have to reschedule the clinic to Sunday, I'll be there.

In reply to pcunningham

I'll be there Sunday, 10-2.

I could do Saturday morning.

In reply to pcunningham

I'm going to be there all day Saturday.

Put me in for Saturday morning!

In reply to pcunningham

I am firmed up for the Sunday 2 to 5 shift. Thanks. - Jeff

Correction needed... sign me up for Saturday morning, not Sunday morning. Thanks,

Randy...maybe one year we can all end up at Craftsbury at this time of year. That would be fun!

I am glad to know and say, that Stuart and Laura will be joining us for their 20th year of helping at the sale! They, along with friends from Keene, NH (Chris and Jill), our staff and many volunteers make this event a success year upon year! Have a great day gliding if you make it up there!

Please put Betsy and I down for Sunday, 2-5.

I'll be there for Sunday morning 10:00 - 3:00.

Can you still use help on Sunday? Not available Saturday.

Sure. Morning or afternoon?

Thank you to everyone that volunteered, came by to say hi, sold a bike or bought a bike. Considering the weather through the 3 days...we had a great event and happily have more folks on bikes.

This event takes a great amount of effort from planning to hosting and then the following up (which is happening now). Without the additional support of volunteers, this would be impossible. We thank you to all that came and helped throughout the weekend! Whether you volunteered over the weekend or not, please realize that your efforts are instrumental (and always appreciated) in everything that the club does...like leading rides, planning rides, helping at a dinner, hosting an event, working at the cyclocross race, being support at Tour of Litchfield Hills, or mentoring a developing junior racer...only to name a few.

Thank you again, and now I hope that myself, Doug, Pete, Charlie, Rob, Jodi, Adam, Axel, Sarah and Finn see you on a ride or at the shop.

Ride safely.
