Club members might be especially interested in the panel Sustainable Tourism: Building a World Class Bicycle Network in Southern New England, held from 4:45-5:30. Location TBA.

The green economy is very interesting and I'm all for conservation but was wondering if biking to work is really greener than driving my SUV. My commute is 30 miles roundtrip. Let's say it takes me 2 hours. According to most calculators I'll burn more than 1500 calories or about 5+ snicker bars ($5.00) vs 1 1/2 gallons of gas ($4.20) in my SUV. Which has the bigger carbon footprint?

Jeff, I doubt that you on your bike emit as much exhaust as your SUV!
